Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 8 horsepower leaf blower, briggs stratton engine, briggs stratton

I have an 8 hp gas powered leaf blower with a Briggs & Stratton  engine, made in 1984.  The engine will run for a few minutes and then cuts out.  It will restart and do the same thing each time.  I have checked the spark plug, etc.  I bought a new carburator kit, changed all parts.  The engine continued to cut out.  I thought it might be the float because I am getting fuel coming out of the exhaust.

joe you are on right track
 those were normally the so called large one pc.  carbs.  very touchy  on the needle and seat and float drop.
you are on the right track.  its a float  >  or carb.  problem.  back track.
now if its a coil shorting out ? thats another story. as soon as it shuts down .  pull plug and check for spark, while it is still hot.
