Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): M-18, 20 Kohler, filter hoses, wrist pins

Question
Simple question:  If I reverse the remote filter hoses to the block connection, will I cut off oil flow to the crank wrist pins?  Does the oil filter have a check valve to prevent it leaking down and if so, would this block flow?

Thanks,
Mike

Answer
 Hello Mike:

The Oil Filter Does have a Check Valve to Prevent Back Flow and Helps Keep the Engine from Dry Starts. This will Block the Oil Flow. I Don't Suggest you Reverse the Flow as the Oil Filter and Engine are Not Designed for it. There will be a Loss of Pressure if the Hoses are Reversed. Remember that the Discharge Port from the Engine is Different from the Return Port. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Thanks.

 Good Luck
