Chevrolet Repair: 5.7 liter hesitation at start and poor power..., throttle position sensor, gasket kit

Question
I recently picked up a 91 1500. It ran fine at first but has picked up a hestitation at take off. I have a TBI that i just put a new gasket kit and cleaned completely. both injectors have a conical shape like they are supposed to. also new plugs, wires, distr. I replaced O2 sensor and Throttle position sensor. Thia helped but I still have a slight hesitation. Vaccuum lines have been checked. I am now stumped... Next step is a large cliff.. Not really! The motor was rebuilt about 12-15k ago. any assistance is greatly appreciated... THANKS

Answer
I would start off very simple by disconnecting and plugging the EGR vacuum hose. Road test the vehicle and see if the hesitation is still there. When EGR's start to fail they can cause a hesitation like that.

If the EGR did not fix it, check fuel pressure...should be between 13 to 15 psi at idle.

Do you have good acceleration while cruising...lack of power?

Get back to me and let me know how that worked out.
