Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 1980s victa ride on overheating, briggs and stratton, half an hour

john , this is matt from australia i have been given a 1980ish victa ride on that apparently stops going after about half an hour due to over heating i haven't tried it yet only had it 2 days motor is a briggs and stratton 8hp any suggestions would be great

 Hello Matt:

 Remove the Blower Housing(metal engine cover) and Make Sure it Doesnt have Grass or a Rats Ness Under it. If this is Clean and the Air can Circulate Under the Housing, then Replace the Coil/Magnetron. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.
