Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Testing a coil, mail link, safety switches

Question
I have an P220G series twin cylinder Onan 20 hp engine on an MTD tractor.  It appears that the coil has possibly failed as the spark plugs are no longer firing.  The coil is receiving 12 volts, the safety switches are okay, etc.  Before I order a new coil, is there a way to somehow test this one to verify that it is malfunctioning?  It is pretty simple to access. Thanks.

Answer
 Hello Henry:

Take the Coil to your Local Automotive Parts Supplier or Repair Shop. One of them Should have a Coil Tester. Have you Checked the Ignition Module/Igniter? You can get more Information on this Engine at this Addy http://www.tulsaenginewarehouse.com/catalog/onan/ I Usually E-Mail them if I have Questions I can Not Answer. The E-Mail Link is Near the Bottom Right of the Page. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck
