Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 2 cycle engine runs then stalls, plastic fuel tank, leafblower

Question

Thanks for your very prompt reply.  I should have mentioned that I did suspect a clogged muffler, but its OK.  I will check for a clogged fuel filter.  How is fuel pumped from the tank to the carb?

Thanks, Burt Bechtel

-----Question-----
I have a homelite leafblower with a 2 cycle engine.  I have had a problem where it will start, run for about 60 seconds and then die.  I have removed the air filter, checked the choke (works fine), removed the carb and blew it out with compressed air.  If I pump the primer bulb after it stalls I can get it to run again for another minute, but then - especially if I rev' it up, it stalls.  How is the fuel pumped from the tank?  I have noted that I have air pressure in the plastic fuel tank when I remove the cap - is this correct?  Any help would be appreciated.

 Hello Burt:

Have you Replaced the Fuel Filter in the Tank? Check the Exhaust Port for Blockage. Check the Muffler and Spark Arrestor Screen in the Muffler for Blockage. If the you have Done All this and Everything is Good, then the Carburetor is Still the Problem. Did you Soak the Carburetor Overnight in Carburetor Cleaning Solution? Send me the Model Numbers Off of the Blower, Please. With these, I can Locate a Breakdown/IPL and Better Assist you. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

Answer
 Hello Burt:

The Carburetor is a Pulse Carburetor and the Pump is Inside the Carburetor. If the carburetor is a Walbro, Go to this Addy http://walbro.com/ and Select the Service and Aftermarket Tab. Then Select Aftermarket Parts and Service. Then Select the Engine the Carburetor is Attached to. Then Select the Use of the Engine. Then Select the Carburetor. This will Take you to a Breakdown/IPL for the Carburetor. If this is a Zama Carburetor, Go to this Addy http://www.zamacarb.com/ and Select Service/Aftermarket. Then Select Cube Carburetor Disassembly and Service. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.
