Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): transaxle, dowel pins, snap rings

Question
I have a 917.254520 Sears mower with a transaxle foote model number 4360-6. How can I get the case to come apart? I have removed the pulley from the top along with the snap rings from the shifter shaft & pulley shaft. I have removed all bolts from around the edge. It feels like there is something else holding it together.

Answer
 Hello Wiley:

Some of these Transaxles have Metal Dowel Pins that Line up the 2 Halves of the Housing. These Sometimes make the Housing Hard to Seperate. Locate and Punch these Out. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Transaxle at this Addy http://m-and-d.com/dana_foote_parts.html and Look at the Yellow Header that Says View Dana/Foote Parts Diagrams. Under this Header, Scroll Down to the 4360-6 Transaxle and Click on it. This will Download a Breakdown/IPL of this Transaxle. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck
