Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Toro Wheel Horse Starting Problem, wheel horse, code numbers

Question
Hi, I purchased a used Toro Wheel Horse mower with bagging system to use for fall cleanups. I am having a problem starting the mower. I have a brand new battery but after I use the mower during the day the only way that I can start it later in the day is to jump the mower and then it starts find. Please advise your thoughts. Thanks very much

Answer
 Hello Jim:

Is the Stator Charging? Run the Engine at Full Throttle and Check the Voltage at the Battery. It should be 12.5 or Higher. If Not, then we need to Check the Charging System. If Yes, then we need to Check the Starter for Binding when Hot. If the Valve Lash has Moved it will cause this Problem Also. Send me the Make, Model, Type and Code Numbers Off of the Engine, Please. With these Numbers I can Locate a Breakdown/IPL of the Engine and Better Assist you. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
