Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): kohler cv15s running lean, walbro carb, gas mixture

Question
Hi john, this engine has a Walbro carb on it that has (2) screws idle speed + low idle fuel mixture. I have popped of the limiter on the idle fuel screw and adjusted out until almost falling out and it didn't help. The engine just appears to be running lean and surging on governor. And without a high speed jet to adjust I'm lost. In the manual it states that it has a fixed jet also there is a fuel shut-off solenoid in the bottom. thanks again.

-----Question-----
john the choke adjusting screw that I was talking about is on the speed control bracket. In the service manual that I downloaded calls it a ( choke adjusting screw and spring) on page 5.17. On the 15a. stator upgrade would the flywheel have to be replaced also? Thanks for responding to my questions.

-----Question-----
I have a kohler cv15s 41519 that is running lean at full throttle. If I turn the choke screw in ,closing the choke the engine smooths out.I've taken the carb. apart. It was very clean.Took carb cleaner and soaked it down, then blewout with compressed air.Reassembled and installed. Runs the same. This is a very low hour engine.Oil has been changed regularly. It does have a slight engine noise coming from crankcase in cam/conterbalnce area. Any ideas? Secondly this engine has 3a. charging. Is it possible to add 15a. stator + rectifier?

 Hello Jon:

IS it Possible what you are Calling the Choke Screw is an Air/Gas Mixture Screw? I have never seen a Choke Screw. The Only thing that Chokes the Engine is the Choke Plate and that is Usually Operated by the Throttle Cable, a Seperatee Choke Cable or by Hand and it has No Adjustments. I Suggest you Set the Screw to where the Engine Runs Smoothly and See if the Engine Functions Properly. Yes you can Install a Larger Amp Stator but I'm Not Sure of the Amperage. I think its a 16Amp Stator or 22Amp Stator. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Hello Jon:

Ok you are Referring to the Choke Linkage Adjustment. Have you Tried Opening the High Air Mixture Screw on the Carburetor? This will Increase the Gas Flow through the Jet. As for the Flywheel; No the Same Flywheel is Used. the Stator has more of the Coils is the Only Difference between the Lower Amp Stator and the Higher Amp Stator. Hope this Helps. Answer
 Hello Jon:

I Didn't Download the Breakdown/IPL for your Engine. The File was to Large for the Space Left on my PC. Remove the Solenoid from the Carburetor and Replace it with a Bolt the Same Threads and Diameter 1/2 to 3/4" Long. Turn the High Air Mixture Screw In to Seat. **SNUG DO NOT JAM** Then Reverse the High Air Mixture Screw 1 1/2 Turns. Run the Engine and see if this Solenoid is Good. I have Only been Doing the Online Questions Since April of This Year and am Still Learning How to Communicate Properly over the Computer. Sorry for the Confusion on My End. Hope this Helps.
