Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Briggs and Stratton, briggs and stratton, center bolt

Question
Hi John

Its a Briggs and Stratton 3 hp 4 stroke engine that was built in 1985. I have removed the engine from a superswift push mower and have a replacement BS 375 engine. The Hub, I hope I naming it right is on the shaft and the base plate that the mower blades attach too is screwed onto this hub with 3 small bolts. There is also a centre bolt that screws directly into the bottom of the shaft.

Cheers
Richard

-----Question-----
Hi John

I am replacing my mowers engine with a new one. I have removed the old one but I am not sure how to remove the hub that the disc bolted to on the shaft of the old engine. Any ideas how I remove this hub?

Cheers

Richard.
-----Answer-----
 Hello Richard:

Ok. Just so we Don't Break Anything. Send me the Make and Model of the Equipment the Engine is Mounted on, Please. With these Numbers I can Locate a Breakdown/IPL for you and I to View Online and I can Use this For Reference. Is this an Electric PTO Hub? Is this a Variable Speed Hub? The Model Numbers will help me Answer some other Questions Also. Thanks.

 Respectfully

 John

Answer
 Hello Richard:

The Numbers are Stamped into the Blower Housing(metal engine cover) Usually above the Spark Plug. From your Description It Sounds like you are Talking about the Blade Adapter. If this Is Correct, then Remove the Center Bolt and the Adapter should Slide Off. You May Require PB Rust Catalyst, a Puller and Heat to Remove it from the Crankshaft. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 John
