 Hello Marv:

From your Description it Sounds like the Throttle Cable has Broken. Is the Throttle Plate on the Carburetor Moving when you Open the Throttle? If No, then the Throttle Cable is Broken. If Yes,and If the Engine is trying to Rev but Cant/Wont, then Remove the Muffler and Ensure the Exhaust Port and Muffler are not Blocked with Carbon. Check the Muffler Spark Arrestor Screen Also for Blockage. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

Answer
 Hello Marv:

If No One has Tampered with the Air Mixture Screws, they Should Not Require Adjustment. However, Hold the Throttle Full Open and Turn the High Air Mixture Screw IN Until the Engine Starts to Rev Properly. Then Turn 1/4 Turn more and Stop. Then Set the Low Air Mixture Screw so there is No Hesitation when Going from Idle to Full Throttle. If this Doesnt Help, then Clean and Rebuild the Carburetor. If that Doesnt Help, Then Check the Compression. Is the ENgine Trying to Rev Up? If Yes, then Check the Shaft and Trimmer Head for Binding. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.
