Car Alarms: Disabling Auto Mate alarm, butt connectors, brain box

Question
Hello,

thanks in advance for any help you can provide. I recently purchased a 1993 maxima and shortly after had to replace the starter.  when replacing the starter I had to unhook the battery causing the alarm system of the car to activate again.
Since this my remote works on rare occasions but when not working, my starter is disabled and I am unable to drive my car.  I know that there is a valet button to disable this alarm which is typically located under the dash, but however I have spent nearly 3 hours and not found the button.
is there another way to disable this system,  I have some electronics experieince but not enough to just take the alarm out of the car to get rid of it.  is there a specific wire I can cut so that I can bypass the alarm and start my car.

Some research i have done gives me the impression that my alarm system is an automate 425 or 435. based on how the brain looks under the dash.

thanks again

Answer
Ok, then we need to get up into the
underdash cavity, and unplug the brain box,
leaving the harnesses to work off of.
(you should replace this alarm asap!)

Next, this is a Nissan, and usually will have
2 (two) starter wires. These wires show 12 volts
ONLY when cranking. In your case, they will also
have a relay on one or, both, inline, that needs
to be cut off, and the starter wires will need
to be re attatched. Look in the ignition switch
harness, off of the key, and find blk/yel or wht/blue,
and put back into pre install condition
(large yellow butt connectors are best here).

That solves the Automate troubles. Now, replace it
with one you know how to use, and has what you
need here, cause if I were a thief, this car is
a 30 second in and out pit stop if left unprotected!

Have a good one and if
I can put you into another system and help
you install it, let me know.
