Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): John Deere ride-on, level pad, dck

Question
Hi,
I have an LX 277 ride-on mower with 48" dck and side mounted blower. Could you please tell me the correct way to set up the anti-scalping wheels. Should they run on the ground with the weight of the deck?(to me this would mean adjusting the wheels for every mowing height, so what use is the height setting dial?)
Regards,

Answer
 Hello Simon:

The Anti-Scalping Wheels are Set at 1" Below the Blade Level. Put the Mower on a Level Pad and Measure from the Blade Cutting Edge to the Ground. Set the Wheels 1" Lower than the Blade Cutting Edge. If the Blades Still Scalp the Yard you can Adjust to your Specific Requirements. Hope this Helps. I am Here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
