Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Snowblower (Craftman 9hp) electric start not working, starter cord, button test

Question
It is a model C950-52419-0
9hp, 24" used 1.5 seasons.  I do have a manual with engine breakdown but see no fuse points or anything I can actually interpret with my lack of technical training.  There is a starter button and a cable that leaves it into the engine starter enclosed area itself.  How can I determine if its a bad switch or something beyond (perhaps a starter).  Both are relatively new and shouldn't be malfunctioning but who knows

Thanks for your time.  I just purchased a used 2 yr old 9hp craftsman 24" electric start snowblower.  It has both manual pull start and electric start.  I can start it no problem with the pull start but when I plug an extension cord into the electric start, It doesn't make even a noise when I click the button.  I tested the cable and it has power.  I am at a loss.  Please help

 Hello Chuck:

Send me the Model Numbers, Please. With these Numbers I can Locate a Breakdown/IPL of this Snowblower and better Assist you. Is the Button Good? If the Current is Traveling to the Starter Motor and the Starter Motor Isnt Turning, then the Starter Motor is Bad. It May have Shorted or the Starter Diode May have Blown. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

Answer
 Hello Chuck:

Use an Multimeter to Check the Starter Button. Unplug the Starter Cord and check the Condinuity of the Wire through the Switch from the Starter Motor to the Electrical Plug. If the Wires and Button Test Good, then the Starter Motor is Bad. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck
