Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Riding Lawn Mower/Lawn Tractor repair, lawn tractor repair, craftsman lawn tractor

Question
Hello Mr. Bridgers,

My father has an old Craftsman lawn tractor - a 6 speed, 42" cut 17HP "Turbo Cooled" I/C Platinum. He bought it in 1989 and generally, runs fine.  However, the blade has dropped on one side, and so the cut is no longer level.  He has tried to find some leveling device on the tractor but can't.

In short my question is: How can he make the blade level again?

Thank you very much for your consideration and your answer.  If you need any more information, please feel free to e-mail me and I'll get back to you right away.

With Best Regards,
Jeff Petersen

Answer
 Hello Jeff:

Check the Qill/Mandrel Assembly. This is the Assembly the Blade is Attached to. Make Sure the Bearings are Good. From your Description it Sounds like the Bearings are Bad and the Qill/Mandrel needs Replacing. Send me the Model Numbers Off of the Mower, Please. With these I can Locate a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower and Better Assist you. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
