Question -
the mower starts fine and will run all day until I shut it down to empty the grass bags and then it won't start again until it cools down? Oil changed, plugs and fuel filter and air filter all checked. what would cause this?

Did you replace the spark plugs?
How old is the mower and what is the engine model, type and serial/spec numbers?

The model number you provided is for the tractor.  Based off that number I believe you engine is a twin cylinder L head series.  There is a model number on the engine shroud for the engine identification.

Did you replace the spark plugs?  Has the mower ever received a major tune-up?

Are you familar with engine repair and do you have a torque wrench or in-line spark tester?
