Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Riding mower, sears craftsman, input shaft

Question
Item: Sears Craftsman riding mover model 917.271061 with Kohler 15.5 OHV

Problem:  My mower will not go forward or backwards.  It starts but when I start to release the brake, it starts to vibrate and smell of burning rubber starts.  If I hold the brake back down, the vibrating and smell ceases

Answer
 Hello Rafael:

Go to this Addy http://www3.sears.com/ and Click on the Lawn Equipment Box. Then Enter the Model Numbers and Click Continue. Then Verify the Equipment is Correct and Click Continue. Now Scroll Down and Select View Diagram of the Ground Drive. You need to Remove the Cutter Deck and Check the Pulleys (diagram #47 and #38) and Make Sure they are Not Binding or Frozen. Remove the Drive Belt and Turn the Transaxle Input Shaft by Hand. Will it Turn? Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
