Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Pull cord on an Echo Pb400e, recoil starter, starter rope

Question
Afternoon John,

Hi, I have an Echo power blower 400.  The pull cord breaks three times a year. I need to learn how to replace it myself. (going broke) I don't know how to rewind the mechanism spring.. to get the cord to feed into the spool.  Would apreciate a call. 706 543 4161, can call back.. ring once for caller ID..  and will call you.. if it is a toll call. My e-mail is mikeub12 at aol.com. I can photograph my parts and send you pictures on line.  I don't know how to wind the mechanism which draws in the cord. I have made careful drawings of the unit before disassimbly.. I know it must be easy for someone like yourself, and I think you can help me.

best regards,

Answer
 Hello Michael:

Turn the Recoil Pulley Towards the Hole the Starter Rope Exits the Housing until it Can Not be Turned. Now Reverse 1 Turn and Line Up the Hole in the Pulley with the Hole in the Housing. Push the New Rope Through the Hole in the Pulley and Out through the Housing. Tie a Slip Knot in the Rope to Hold the Pulley and Rope while the Handle is ttached to the Rope. Release the Slip Knot and the Rope will Retract into the Housing. You can View a Breakdown of this Blower at this Addy http://www.smallenginepartswarehouse.com/parts.asp and Click Parts Look Up. Then Select the OEM and Enter the Model Munbers PB-400E. Then Select you Blower Model in the Search Results and Double Click on it. A New Screen will Open and you can View the Blower in Breakdown From Here. Select the File for the Engine, Intake, Exhaust ect. and you can View the Recoil Starter. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
