Question -
I have a   Home lite little Red XL UT 10741 Chain Saw.
I prime it and choke as per instructions and it starts fine but only runs less than a minute. I loosen the fuel cap slightly and it runs fine. I am perplexed by whay is happening.  Can you give me some pointers about this?
Thanks,  Joe

Answer -
 Hello Joe:

Replace the Fuel Cap. If the Cap isnt Venting the Tank a Vaccum Builds and Doesnt Allow fuel to Flow to the Carburator. Check the Return Line (if this has one) from the Carburator. If Fuel isnt Returned to the Tank Properly, a Vaccum Builds in the Tank and wont Allow Fuel to Feed the Carburator. You can View a Breakdown of this Saw at this Addy http://www.ordertree.com/index.asp and Select the OEM and Enter the Model Number. Then Doublle Click on your Saw. This will bring up a Breakdown of this Saw. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

Answer
 Hello Joe:

If the Return is Stopped Up, Remove the Line from the Carburator. Empty the Gas Tank and Blow Compressed Air through the Return Line. If this Line is Clear, Then Clean and Rebuild the Carburator. While we are Working on this Saw, Remove the Muffler and Check the Exhaust Port for Blockage and Check the Muffler and Spark Arrestor Screen for Blockage Also. The Spark Arrestor Screen is in the Muffler. Also, have you Replaced the Filter in the Tank? Hope this Helps. I am here if you require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.
