Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): follow up on advice, safety switches, type numbers

John I set the gap at .020in there is no spark through plug the numbers you asked for are model 404707 type 1206 01 code 89020612 today it seems to be turning over slowly even with jumper leeds on it

 Hello Pat:

 You can View a Breakdown of this Engine at this Addy http://shop.briggsandstratton.com/BShopProductListingPage.asp?rsvp=0&PARENTID=0&... and Enter the Model Numbers and the Type Numbers and Click Search. Then Scroll Down to the 2nd Listing and Click on View PDF. This will Download a Breakdown of the Engine. The Coil has Either the Clip on Ignition Module Diagram # 333 on Page 10 of 12 or the Internal Ignition Module(built into the coil). Replace the Ignition Module Diagram # 897 on Page 10 of 12 or the Coil if it has the Internal Ignition Module. Make Sure All the Safety Switches are Working Properly and Allowing the Coil to Fire. Disconnect the Shutoff Wire from the Coil and See if it will Fire. If Not, then Replace as Suggested Above. Check the Battery for Good Charge.
