Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman 32cc weedwacker, ft elevation, fuel mixture

Question
Weedwacker starts and idles fine but when I press on the throttle it dies. The gas I'm using is new and is mixed properly.I'm thinking it's the high speed fuel mixture but there seems to be a special tool you need for this adjustment.Do you have any insight into this problem. Also I live at 8000 ft. elevation.

Thank you

Answer
Hi, it could be a few differnt things! Lets try some things before we ajust the carb! check & replace the fuel filter that is inside the gas tank, Alot of time this is the most common problem! Also check your fuel line to make sure that it dose not have a crack in it or that it is not colapsing when you throttle up! If your carb has a primer blub inspect it to make sure that there is no cracks in it! if still no help then take off your muffler and you will find a little screen (Spark Resistor)Make sure that it is not plugged up. You can clean it with a wire brush & some parts cleaner or gas. Let me know what happens & we will go from there!!!!
