Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): oil change for snowblower, length of pipe, snowblower

Question
Hi michael
I had a 9.0hp craftman snowblower. had it for a while but lose the owner guide. could you please tell me how to change oil on that thing. where would that drain pipe be ? and what kind of oil would be suitable ?
thank you

Answer
Hi Joe,

The drain plug should be at the side of the engine near the bottom.  There is usually a cap on a short length of pipe or a plug that threads into the crankcase.  Drain, re-plug and refill the engine to the mark on the dipstick with 10w-30 oil for cold weather use.

Best,
Michael
