Wow that was quick. I maybe looking in the wrong spot but I could not find any numbers on the engine. Here is what I did find. 8 HP Briggs and Stration. I/C Cast Iron. Does this help? If not I'll look again in the morning when I can see better.
Thanks again. I bought this Mower for $200. My goal is to tear it apart and restore it this winter. I can't see spending a couple of thousand of dollars when we have a baby on the way. Have a great night.

Hi John,
It seems to be starving for gas. When it begins to die if I push in the clutch it will save it. Or if I push the throtle to CHOKE it will save it. What do you think?

Hello Hank:
Check the Gas Line from the Tank to the Carburator. Even if you See Gas in the Filter, make Sure it is Free Flowing at the Carburator. If the Gas Free FLows at the Carburator, then The Carburator Sounds like the Cause of the Problem. Clean and Rebuild the Carburator. Remove the Carburator and Disassemble. Soak Overnight in Cleaning Solution(carburator cleaner). Blow All passages Out with Compressed Air. Install Kit. Send me the Make, Model, Type and Code Numbers Off of the Engine, Please. With these I can Locate a Breakdown of the Engine and Carburator and Better Assist you. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. The Model Numbers are Usually Located on the Blower Housing(metal engine cover) above the Spark Plug. They are Stamped into the Blower Housing. Hope this Helps. Thanks for the Update.
