Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman 6.5 Briggs&Stratton, briggs stratton, flywheel

Question
I dont know exactly what it is called but the coil that sends a spark to the plug on my mower got wet and had a little bit of rust on it as well as the flywheel.  I took the coil off and cleaned it and also cleaned the flywheel, and it started fine but it sounded like metal on metal, so i looked back and the coil was scraping the flywheel, i readjusted it so there is a gap now but i was wondering if maybe it scraped the contact points off of the flywheel or if i have gaped it wrong. if you could help me i would appreciate it very much..   Thanks

Answer
 Hello Royse:

The Gap Between the Coil and Flywheel is .020in. If you didnt Run the Engine too Long, then the Coil should be Fine. Reset the Gap and see if you have Fire at the Plug. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. I enjoy knowing the Outcome. Thanks.

 Good Luck
