Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 87 Honda HRS21 mower w/GXV110 engine wont start, honda engines, starter fluid

Question
This mower has started on the first pull all its long life.  I always turn fuel off and run the carb dry when finish mowing.  Now, it won't hit a lick (after turning fuel back on, choke on, as usual).  I cannot figure out how to tell if there's a spark, the old B&S's had a metal housing near enough the plug you could manage to ground the removed plug on, but not this one.  I took covers off until I exposed what must be the magneto assembly, but didn't want to go further without knowing a little more about what I am doing.  Is the ignition coil a likely culprit, and am I able to replace it on my own?  It was running fine when I used it about 10 days ago.

Answer
 Hello Horace:

Wrap a Wire around the Threads of the Spark Plug and Attach the Other End to the Engine. Pull the Starter. Is there Spark? If there is Spark, then try to Start the Engine With Starter Fluid. If it Starts and Quits the Carburator needs to be Cleaned and Rebuilt. Is there Gas At the Inlet Port of the Carburator? Send me the Type Letters Off of the Engine. I Require Both the Model Numbers and the Type Letters to Get a Breakdown of the Engine so I can Assist you Better. You can Try this Addy  http://www.honda-engines eu.com/en/service/spareparts/heepartscatalogue/index.jsp, when you have the Type Letters. You should have No Problems once you have a Breakdown and can Ask me Questions if you need to. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. I enjoy knowing the Outcome. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully
