Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): homelite XL chainsaw, starter cord, compression release

JOHN, FOLLOWUP ON MY HOMELITE SUPER XL CHAIN SAW SPARK NOW IS GREAT AFTER YOUR TIP. NOW THAT I PUT SPARK PLUG IN VERY DIFFERCULT TO PULL STARTER CORD. BUT IT DID RUN FOR 30-40 SECONDS, BUT STILL HARD TO PULL CORD. IF I REMOVE SPARK PLUG AND PULL CORD IT IS SMOOTH AND EASY. ANY THOUGHS THAT MIGHT HELP ME GET IT RUNNING?

 Hello Robert:

 Did you Check the Exhaust Port for Blockage? From the Breakdown I see this Engine Doesnt Have a Compression Release. If the Exhaust Port is Blocked it will Cause the Problem you are Having. Is the Flywheel Key Good? If the Flywheel Key is Damaged the Engine will be Hard to Pull Also. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Pease.
