Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Riding mower runs rough, sears craftsman, kohler engine

"I ran out of gas and filled it with new gas(gas 1 week old)to finish a little mowing. The mower started running like it was running out of gas. It would run for a few seconds and then lose power and run good for a few seconds more etc. I thought maybe it would clear itself up but didn't. I changed an inline fuel filter and spark plug which was all carboned up but same problem exists. Where should I go next. I though about running some gas treatment or carb cleaner through. The mower is five years old but barely used until this year." It is a sears craftsman 17.5 HP with a kohler engine and auto tranny.

 From your Description, When the Mower Ran Out of Gas it Most Likely Picked up Trash/Water Into the Carburator. I Suggest you Clean and Rebuild the Carburator.
