Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): weed eater, husqvarna 125, weed trimmer

Question
I just bouught a pair of husqvarna 125" 2006 lawn tools for $75.00 steal! one is a weed trimmer and the other a stick edger. they both have the same exact engine one works and the other doesnt. I pull the cord (primed)with the choke on about three times and it putters for 1 second. Then I hold the throttle all the way down with the choke off, and it will stay on for up to 5 or 6 seconds then it will just die immediately. I adjusted the idle screw enough so that I know it will stay on but it just wont stay on. fuel filter: excellent, 2 stroke mix works well with other engine, everything seems to be very new. The spark plug is also good. im stumped you are the expert and I honestly know that with the advice you give me I can and will fix it. this will save me lots of time and money. thank you for the expert advice Ignacio Cardenas

Answer
 Hello Ignacio:

Remove the Muffler and Check for Blockage in the Exhaust Port. Check the Muffler and Spark Arrestor Screen for Blockage. The Spark Arrestor Screen is in the Muffler. If the Exhaust Port and Muffler and Spark Arrestor are Clear, then Clean and Rebuild the Carburator. You can View a Breakdown of the Trimmers at this Addy http://www.usa.husqvarna.com/ and in the Search Area Enter the Model Number in the Search Illustrated Parts List Window and Click Search. Then Select the Equipment you wish to View. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please. I enjoy knowing the Outcome. Thanks.

 Good Luck
