Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): poulan chainsaw, air mixture, exhaust port

Question

Hi

I've got two old Poulan chainsaws (2150 & 2375) that I'am trying to get going after they have been sitting for several years. Both have a Walbro WT 324 carb.I replaced the fuel lines, did a carb rebuild with new  needle and new diaphrams both sides, new gaskets. Removed, cleaned,  replaced, internal screens. Removed plugs ran a nylon fishing line thru all opening, soaked  in carb cleaner.
Gas flows into carb throat when I pump the new bubble primer. Saw will start but cut off as soon as it burns this gas. Sometimes I can keep it running for a while by jimminy the choke lever. But it either floods or runs out of gas it's hard to tell which.  I tried adusting the high speed and low speed screws on carb side, but it doesn't help. The carb is not pumping gas but I don't know why. I've run out of ideas, any you have will be appreciated.
Thanks
Carlton

Answer
 Hello Carlton:

Did you Soak the Carburator at Least 24 hrs in the Carburator Cleaner? Have you Removed the Mufflers and Checked the Exhaust Port for Blockage? Have you Checked the Muffler and Spark Arrestor Screen for Blockage? If the Exhaust Port, Muffler or Spark Arrestor Screen is Blocking the Exhaust this will Happen. You can View a Breakdown of these Saws at this Addy http://www.smallenginepartswarehouse.com/parts.asp and Click on the Parts look Up Block. On the Next Screen Select the OEM, Poulan/Weedeater and Enter the Model Number of the Saw you want to look at. If you Require the Settings for the Air Mixture Screws, Let me know. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please. I enjoy knowing the Outcome. Thanks.
