Question -
The model number is 917.259561 Craftsman 19.5

While I was mowing in 3rd gear the gear shift knob caught a swing rope and suddenly pulled it back into reverse.  The mower will now not move.  When I push it in neutral it rolls but when I shift it into gear it holds it back?  Can you please help?  Any suggestions would be helpful and appreciated.

Answer -
 Hello Duke:

Is this a Hydrostatic or Hydromatic Drive Transaxle? Check the Drive Belt on the Transaxle. On the Transaxle Housing is a Plate with the OEM and the Model Numbers. Send me the OEM and Model Numbers, Please. With these I can View a Breakdown of the Transaxle and Better Assist you. Thanks.

 Respectfully

 John

Answer
 Hello Duke:

You can View a Breakdown of the Transaxle at this Addy http://www.outdoordistributors.com/ and Click the P. Then Choose Peerless. Then Choose To View Parts List. Then Scroll Down to the 930 Series. Click on the 930 Series. Then Scroll Down to the 930-930-057A. This is the Model Number of the Transaxle in your Mower. If the Belt wasnt the Cause for your Problem, then the Cause May be inside the Transaxle. If you Put the Transaxle in Gear and Turn the Pulley on the Transaxle Input Shaft, will the Wheels Turn or is the Input Shaft Locked Up when the Transaxle is in Gear? Be sure to Block the Transaxle so the Wheels are Off the Ground. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please. I enjoy knowing the Outcome. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
