Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): wont start when hot, hp briggs, riding lawnmower

Question
i have a power kraft 42 in cut riding lawnmower with a 18.5 hp briggs twin cyclinder motor mower starts fine then mow 1 yard and the shut it off then it wont start i have replaced both spark plugs and air filter. after it cools off it will start again

Answer
 Hello Michael:

1- Check for Fire at the Plugs when it Fails to Start. From your Description it Sounds like the Coil/Ignition Module/Igniter. When the Coil/Ignition Module/Igniter Heats Up, it Grounds Out and Stops Firing the Plugs. When the Engine Cools Enough the Coil/Ingition Module/Igniter will Lose Ground and Fire the Plugs Again. 2- Check the Gas Tank Cap and Ensure it is Venting the Tank Properly. 3- Check the Gas Filter. Send me the Model, Type and Code Numbers Off of the Engine, Please. With these Numbers I can View a Breakdown of the Engine and Better Assist you. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please. I enjoy knowing the Outcome. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
