Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): craftsman lawn mower 6.5 hp 7 years old, craftsman lawn mower, air mixture
Questionhow to adjust mixture it is running way rich
Answer Hello George:
Run the Engine at full Throttle and Turn the Main Jet Screw(Usually in the Carburator Bowl) in Until the Engine Smooths Out. Now Lower the Engine Speed to Idle and set the Idle Air Mixture Screw. Sometimes if you get the Idle Air too Lean, the Engine Will Hesitate between Going from Idle to Full Throttle. If this Happens, Simply Turn the Idle Air Mixture Screw Counter Clockwise 1/4 Turn Until the Hesitation Goes Away. Normally 1/4 to 1/2 Turn will Correct this and Not Affect the Main Jet or the Idle. Then Set the Idle. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.
Good Luck
Respectfully
John
