Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): tecumseh 6.5hp starts and dies, carburator, cleaning solution

Question
Hello,
Mower pulls fine and after priming (3X) starts right up. Runs for
3-4 second and dies. Removed the carb and cleaned it. Maybe I
misssed something. Very frustrating. Any assistance would be
welcomed!

Answer
 Hello Dean:

The Varnish that the Gas Forms Over Time is Very Hard to Remove  from Carburators. I Suggest that the Carburator be Soaked Overnight in Cleaning Solution and then Blow Out the Passages with Compressed Air. I have had Some Carburators that have had to be Soaked 2 or 3 Times to Properly Clean Them. The Hardest Carburator is the Plastic Carburator with No Adjustments. Most Times this Carburator is Better Replaced than Cleaned. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
