Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): ECHO Gt-1100 Trimmer carb way too rich need fix?, zama carb, adjustment screws

Question
On my ECHO GT-100 Trimmer, my ZAMA carb is running way to rich causing it not to start.
I have read the manual on the ECHO Trimmer and it says to have the hi & lo adjustment screws lightly seated then back them out.
What is lightly seated? These screws have springs on them.

Thanks for your help

Answer
 Hello Bryan:

Before you Move the Screws, Check the Exhaust Port for Carbon Blockage. Also Check the Muffler and Spark Arrestor Screen for Blockage. The Spark Arrestor Screen is in the Muffler. If these are Blocked then the Engine Cant Exhaust Properly and the Carburator will Show Signes of Flooding. If these are Not Blocked, then Turn the Mixture Screws In Until they are Snug. The Depth of the Mixture Screws Allows for the Springs. Just SNUG, DO NOT TIGHTEN. You can Feel when the Botom Out. Then follow the Instructions you have in the Manual. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.
