Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman DLT stuck in gear, speed lever, hydrostatic transmission

Question
I have a (I believe) 2002 25HP 46" DLT. It was only used a few times then put into storage until two weeks ago. When I tried to start it I needed to take apart the carburator and clean everything out to get fuel to the engine. After getting it running for 10-15 minutes I took it out for test run and cut. I was able to run it for about 200 yards until it stopped running. I disengaged the blades, put it into neutral and depressed the clutch and it will not do anything. When I tried pushing it I found out the (hydrostatic)transmission is still in gear. I am pretty sure that there is a safety switch that keeps the engine from starting if it is still in gear. How can I fix this so that I can get this running. And/or what is your recommendation for fixing this type of problem?

Answer
 Hello Michael:

Hydrostatic Transaxles Can Not be Moved unless it has the Bypass Lever to Release the Fluid and Allow it to Flow Around the Control Valve. Is the Ground Control Speed Lever in the Neutral Position? Send me the Model Numbers Off of the Engine and the Mower, Please. With these Numbers I can View the Breakdown of the Mower and the Engine and Better Assist you. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
