Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Electric pto on garden tractor, pto shaft, vertical shaft

Question
Hello John,
Thank you for the speedy response, here is the information that you have requested:
Engine Model Number: 445777
Engine Type: 0122E1
Engine Code: 000801YH
Mower Model Number: 74AR807P131 (Model 807)
I purchased this tractor new in 2001. It has a Warner Electric PTO. Yes I have tried blue thread lock, have also tried Metal Set/ J.B. Weld. The threds inside the PTO shaft do not seem to be stripped because the bolt can still be torqued down.
         Thank You,
         Mike

Question -
HI John, I have a Huskee 23hp mower B&S vertical shaft. The electric pto keeps coming loose. I put in a new bolt and lock washer, no help. Parts put in according to manual (correct order). The bolt torques down good and I've tried different pressures. It starts loosening within 30 second of engagement. Any ideas would be appreciated.     Thanks,   Mike

 Hello Mike:

Send me the Model, Type and Code Numbers Off the Mower and the Engine, Please. With these I can Look at a Diagram of the Mower and the Engine and Better Assist you. However, Did you Use Blue Thread Lock on the Bolt? I have Found that Most Times that Thread Lock is needed to Stop this Bolt from Loosening. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John

Answer
 Hello Mike:

The Model Number should be 14AR807P131. Does the Bolt Tighten in the Opposite Direction than the Engine Rotation? Is all the Parts for the Clutch Mounting still There? Go to http://mtd.arinet.com/scripts/EmpartISAPI.dll?MF&app=MTDC&lang=EN&TF=Mainframe&l and Choose Parts and Accessories. Then Choose the Manufacturer and Enter the Model Numbers 14AR807P131. Look at the Electric PTO Assembly. The Shoulder Spacer is Number 16. The Engine Rotation is Such that the Bolt Should Tighten when the Engine is Running. If the Shoulder Spacer is Missing the Bolt will Not Stay Tightened. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
