Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Small Honda Engine G100 2.2HP, starter fluid, honda engine

Question
The subject engine is mounted on my lawn edger.  This edger has not been used for a few years.  The fuel tank and the carburator has been gummed up when I have this unit.  It was cleaned out pretty good and I was able to operate the unit for a few month. All of the sudden, I can not start the unit, even with starting fluid.  There is spark when I checked it.  Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Answer
 Hello Thinh:

If it will Not Run on Starter Fluid, then Check the Compression. If the Compression is 70psi or More, then Check the Flywheel Key. If the Flywheel Key is Good, then the Carburator is the Problem and needs to be Cleaned and Rebuilt. Normally if using Starter Fluid and the Engine Will Not Start the Compression is Low or the Flywheel Key is Damaged. If you have Compression, Fire at the Proper Moment(Flywheel Key times the Firing) and Fuel, the Engine Will Run. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please.
