Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): lawn mower ignition switch, craftsman model, pin switch

Question
I ordered a replacement ignition switch for my 10hp craftsman model 502.254170.  The switch part number is 21064 listed in my manual, and the part I received from Sears was 4406R.  The replacement part came with a sheet that informed me to modify my wiring harness.  It came with two figures for the wires mounted on a harness connector.  As displayed on the sheet for Figure 1, it was supposed to be my current configuration with a 5 pin setup.  From the bottom left and continuing clockwise, it starts with GND (black), Red, Black, white, orange (when viewing the connector from the wire side).  Figure 2 on the sheet is what I am suppose to change the harness to.  Again, starting with the bottom left and clockwise, I am suppose to configure the harness to red, black white, orange, GND (black). The problem is that my wire harness on the tractor is configured in only 3 of the 5 pins in the harness connector.  Each of the 3 pins has two wires of the same color.  It has an empty bottom left followed by two red ones in the next pin (again clockwise), two yellow wires, and two black wires, the bottom right is also empty.  My manual shows the two reds coming from the battery/solenoid and charging coil, the yellows are from the spark plug/solid state ignition and seat switch, the blacks are tied in with the transmission interlock switch/solenoid.  My old ignition switch is in the starting position when the reds and blacks are connected (that’s how I hot wired it).  I would really like to connect the new ignition switch, but I do not know how to reconfigure the harness connector.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Thankx
Randy

Answer
 Hello Randy:

I have Both Styles of Ignition Switches on Hand, but have Never Tried to do the Configuration Change you are Trying. I have had an Email of this Question sent to my Private Email and will Respond as soon as I Try the Configuration in the Shop. I Do Not Understand Why Sears Sent you a 5 Pin Switch, when the 3 Pin is Still Avaliable. I will be in Touch. Thanks.
