Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Lawn mower starts, sputters and dies, self propelled mower, starter fluid

Question
I have a Troy-Bilt walk behind self propelled mower. It worked fine
until I left it outside for threee days and it rained. Noe I can't get it
to run. It starts, runs wekly, sputters and stops. I know nothing
about engine repairs but a neighbor helped me put on a new fan
belt a few weeks ago. I think I need to clear the gas line or clean
the carburetor but I have no idea how to do that. Any suggestion
will be welcome. I've had it for less than 2 years and it has not been
run a lot.

Answer
 Hello Emanuel:

Drain and Clean the Gas Tank. Can you Try to Run the Mower for 25 to 30 Seconds with Starter Fluid? If yes, then Do So for 3 or 4 Times and it Might Pull the Water Out of the Carburator. If it Does Not Pull the Water from the Carburator, then the Carburator will have to be Cleaned and Rebuilt. If you are going to Attempt this Repair, Send me the Make, Model, Type and Code Numbers Off the Engine, Please. With the Numbers I May be Able to Locate a Diagram that will Assist you in Doing this Repair. Hope this Helps. Let me know  what Happens, Please.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully
