Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Murray riding mower, keyswitch, murrary

Question
I have a murrary riding mower and I can not get it to shut off,  I have to disconnect the gas line and let it die after it uses all the gas in the carburator.  I have installed a new swithc but it still wont shut off.  Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks

Answer
Hi J,

If you have installed a new keyswitch but still no change, I suspect that the keyswitch wire that goes to the ignition coil, has broken.  I would trace the wires from the keyswitch to check this.  In the mean time, the engine should quit if the blades are engaged when you get off the seat , if the safety kill switch is present and working.

Let me know how you make out.
