Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman DYT4000 Wont Start, craftsman dyt4000, starter fluid

Question
Not the handiest guy in the world and just got a used DYT4000 - 18.5 HP B&S.  I probably foolishly washed off the air filter and then replaced it.  When I tried to restart the engine it won't fire up.  I think the water in the air filter got pulled into the carburetor.  Any suggestions?

Answer
 Hello Peter:

Try to Start and Run the Engine for 25 to 30 Seconds with Starter Fluid. If this Does Not Clear the Water from the Carburator, then then Carburator will have to be Blown Out with Compressed Air. Hope this Helps. After Cleaning the Air Filter, Pour some Motor Oil onto the Filter and Take a Rag and Squeeze the Filter to leave a Small Amount of Oil in the Filter. Let me know what Happens, Please.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
