Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): troy built 4 cyl weed eater, air fuel mixture, straight shaft

Question
bought a troy built 4 cycle weed eater from Lowes with 2 yr extended warrenty. Trimmer head would not stay tight on the straight shaft. Carried it back (Lowes) and FINALLY got it replaced. The old engine was prefect - one pull and varoom!!  The new engine is so hard ro start and you have to go thru a ritual to start it. "If it ain't broke - don't fix it". Well, it wasn't broke and they didn't fix it!!!  Why change something that works?

Answer
 Hello Jimmy:

It Sounds like the Carburator Needs the Air/Fuel Mixture Enriched. Some of these have a Non Adjustable Carburator. Send me the Model Numbers and Serial Numbers Off the Trimmer and I can look up the Diagram for your Trimmer and be of Better Assistance. Normally the Start Sequence is Put the Carburator on Choke and Pull the Starter Until the Engine Tries tor Start. Then Put the Choke at half Open and Start the Engine. Allow to Run with Half Choke for 30 to 45 Seconds and then Open Choke Fully. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
