Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Engine shuts down, seat safety, carburator

Question
I have a Murray 11hp  rear engine rider.  Engine running fine.  When I try to engage blade , engine shuts down.  Don't understand, blade spins free by hand when disengaged? Can you help.

Thanks

Answer
 Hello John:

The Seat Safety Switch Isnt Working. The Engine will Shut Off Anytime the Blades Are Engaged and Noone is on the Seat. If the Seat Safety is Good, Then Follow the Blade Engagment Linkage and Check the Wires Anywhere the Linkage is Close to the Harness. If it is a Fuel Shut Off Problem, it will be the Carburator is Out of Adjustment or Needs Cleaning and Rebuilding. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
