Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): craftsman mower blowing fuses?, key switch, wiring harness
QuestionI have a craftsman 14hp vangard ohv.It will blow a 30amp fuse instantly when I try to start it. I bought a new wiring harness, siloniod and key switch. I have diconnected one at a time all switches,starter and wires going to engine. The only thing hooked up now is key switch and siloniod still pops the fuse instantly when i go to start it. Any thoughts? Are all the 5 prong key switchs the same?

All the 5 Prong Switches are not the Same. You May have the Wrong Ignition Switch. What Happens when Nothing is On the Harness and you Turn on the Ignition Switch? Let me know what Happens, Please.
