Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Leaking Craftsman Lawnmower, loose fittings, carburator

L just got a hand-me-down mower from my dad thats barely used. Craftsman EZ3 model number(917.377210). I put gas in it and tried to fire it up but noticed th gas leaking through the air filter. I removed the air filter and it continued to leak. Could you possibly put me in the right area to look for cracks or loose fittings. Thanks!

 Hello John:

 Clean and Overhaul the Carburator. The Carburator Float and Needle have Stuck. Old Gas forms a Varnish the Must be Removed. Soak the Carburator Overnight in Cleaning Solution. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please.
