Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Running mower at full choke, soleniod, carburator

Hi John,

I have a 17.5hp ohv Tecumseh which will only run at full choke. I bought a new carburetor today and it does the very same thing. What would you suggest that I might try to resolve my problem.

 Hello George:

 Send me the Model Numbers Off of the Engine, Please. I can look up your Engine with the Numbers and see the Carburator you have on the Engine. However, Does this Engine have the Electric Fuel Control Soleniod in the Carburator Bowl? If Yes, then Remove the Soleniod and Replace it with a Short Bolt. Try to Start the Engine. If it Runs, then Replace the Fuel Soleniod. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please.
