Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Cutting grass, lawnmower died and wont restsart, cylinder compression, compression chamber

Question
I have a push mower, Poulan Pro,I've been running it about an hour when it died, I then restarted it, it died again after about 2 feet. The next day, I can't get it to even turn over..I had a few flutters, got me all excited, but will not start. I have had this for 2 years and it ALWAYS Starts on the first pull..

Second question: I have a riding lawnmower that will not start, it has a dead battery but will start by charge. Now, it just turns a bit here and there, maybe one jump, trying to start and blows oil out the front end..It's about 9 years old, cheap LOWES riding mower..IT turns over about a half a turn, stops, moves really slow, does full turn, then nothing...I think the oil is from it flooding..I turn the key back and fourth many times before it starts to leak oil

ANY help would be greatly appreciated

Answer
 Hello Vic:

Problem 1: It sounds like the Carburator has Gotten Trash into it. Clean and Over Haul the Carburator.

Problem 2: Does the Oil have a Gas Smell to it? If so the Carburator Float Needle isnt Stopping the Gas Flow to the carburator and it is Flooding into the Cylinder and then Seeping into the Crankcase. Install a Cut Off in the Gas Line and Turn the Gas Flow Off When Not Using the Mower. Cleaning the Carburator and Overhauling it Would be Helpful Also. If there is No Gas Smell to the Oil, then the Rings Are Probably Worn and Allowing the Oil to Seep into thew Cylinder Compression Chamber while the Engine Is Not in Use. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
