Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): murray wont move, wont move, mary 1

Question
I have a 17.5 hp 42" murray that worked fine when parked.  One week later when I started it up I could not get it to move.  The gear shifter moves but it does not move.  Help please!

 Hello Mary:

 1- The Brake Pads may be Stuck. 2- Look on the Right Side of the Transaxle. The Brake Assembly is Located Here on Most Murry Riders. Take a Hammer and Hit the Brake Assembly Lightly. You want to Jar the Brake Assenbly not Break it. If it Doesnt Help, Send the Model Numbers Off of the Frame and I can Be of More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please.
