Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): craftman lawnmower, inutes, gas filter

Half through cutting the lawn,my mower stalls,then shut off. i checked the oil,gas,and replaced the spark plug.my mower will start,but shuts off in three seconds.       HELP PLEASE!as

 Hello Sheranda:

 It Sounds like Trash has Gotten Into the Carb Jet. Let the Mower Cool. Does it Run and Quit in 3 to 5 Seconds Still? If so the Jet Does have Trash in it. The Carburator needs to be Cleaned and Overhauled.  If it Runs for 5
inutes or More then Quits and Wont Restart, then Check for Fire at the Spark Plug. If No Spark, the Ignition Module/Coil is Bad. If Yes, there may be Trash in the Gas tank that is Stopping the Flow of Gas to the Carburator.   Clean the Gas Tank  and Replace the Gas Filter if one. Hope this Helps.
