Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Flywheel removal, briggs stratton, hp engine

Question
Hi John:  What is the trick for removing the flywheel on a Briggs & Stratton 18.5 HP engine.  Do I need special tools to keep it from moving and to pull it?  Thanks.

Answer
 Hello John:

You need a Steering Wheel Puller. Attach the Puller to the Flywheel using the Threaded holes in the Flywheel. Tighten the Puller and then Hit the Puller to jar the Flywheel. Retighten the Puller and Repeat until the Flywheel Pops Loose. The Flywheel is a Wedge Fit. Hope this Helps.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
